The June Freeman Lecture Series is excited to announce its next lecture entitled, “The Art of Seating” by Mark Goetz, as it pairs with a featured exhibition at the Arkansas Arts Center that is currently on display until December 31st. “The Art of Seating: 200 Years of American Design” contains more than forty exceptional examples of American chairs, and is the first comprehensive survey of American chairs to be shown at the Arkansas Arts Center.

In Mark Goetz’s 25 year design career he has been responsible for innovative collections of seating and furniture pieces with a classically modern appeal. Since the inception of his firm TZ Design, Mark has worked with many companies and produced a stream of award winning and noteworthy projects with furniture manufactures like Bernhardt, Cabot Wrenn, Nucraft, Stylex, Geiger, and Herman Miller. He visits us after recently winning the 2017 Neocon Gold – Best of Show Award for his work with Geiger International to create the Taper Executive Chair.
